So the move is finally sinking in and my inner organizer is finally starting to cheer! Purge away! My latest & greatest is rethinking the way our family saves keepsakes - especially the kids' art projects.
Their art is near & dear to me as anyone who has ever met my mom knows. My mother, an exceptional artist & painter, has spent countless hours with the boys since they could hold a crayon creating with them just like she did with me and my sister. I credit their boundless imagination to my mother. Sure, you could say I had something to do with it but it wouldn't be the same had my mom not given me crayons and paper everyday of my young life asking the question" what will we create today?".
So the bottom line is that I cannot save everything AND I want to save and share it immediately. Picasa Web Albums to the rescue! I take pictures of the kids' art projects as they create them, hang on the fridge for a while and then send them to relatives to enjoy. We also share the web albums with our family across the country so they can see firsthand what the kids are into this week... is it still Star Wars? Their beloved harry Potter or Thomas? It's like sharing a conversation online only the other person can continue whenever they want and as often as they want.
Saves space, shares the art, sends updates as they happen... easy and effective. Voila!
